Would any of you ladies and gentlemen care if the cloaking device went away? I haven't played my Gal scout much since 1.8 landed though I did fully skill into the cloak. I see on the forums that cloaked/brick tanked mini assaults are pissing people off. People are QQing about the cloak and other people are defending the device as if it was their dear sweet mother's honor. Personally what little I have used it I find the cloak kind of fun but absolutely unnecessary to effectively play a scout. I am not calling for it to be removed or nerfed, I can't say I really have an opinion on it yet, except in general I prefer to see counters to things added to the game as opposed to content taken out of the game or nerfed.
I can't say I'm an old school scout having only gotten into it a couple months before the update, but I have to admit I liked the scout suit being a little more rare. So what are you real scout vets opinion on cloaks?
Most tankers are like sand people. They frighten easily, but will quickly return...and in greater numbers.

If you have good eyesight maybe, some of us are old But if not for the cloak that everyone is QQing about then why, yes you can brick out the Gal scout but it still only gets the EHP of an assault and in the case of my bricked out Gk. 0 (that I've yet to use mind you) is slower than my Minnie assault, but definitely harder to scan (if anyone was bothering with scanners anymore)

Oh I agree with that, which is why I said I would like to see a hard counter rather than removing it or a nerf. Something like an EMP mine or placeable anti cloaking fields. Maybe scanners need to be the counter, but I've read here that they are one of the broken things atm

As feared, try-hards are abusing our beloved suit, corrupting the way of the ninja. This will not stand. The silly thing is the cloak is designed for UNTANKED scouts. Its supposed to be a mechanism of letting a light and fast suit move around the battle field without getting blapped at every turn. The cloak was supposed to be used in lieu of armor/shield stacking --- it was supposed to act as our defense when we had none. Now it is being abused and this makes me so sad because the cloak really is balanced. It gives you a chance for a high alpha, but at the same time is visible enough that it can be seen with the naked eye out more than 100 m away. It's being abused by what I will now refer to as "Triple-Tanked" Scouts. Armor. Shields. Cloak. It's simply too much.
This is where I'm coming from too. I like our other recent buffs so much more than the cloak and I worry that the brick tanked scouts + cloak is going to get us nerfed, just like how slayer logis got true logis nerfed. I know the cloak isn't going away, but all these post 1.8 scouts and folks like my friends who are doing scout tourism with their Dragonfly suits and 1 level in cloaking are going to screw us over I think.
